For psoriasis, Soriatane is most effective when used with phototherapy. If an adjustment must be made, it's best that phototherapy is adjusted downward. Other medications, such as etanercept or infliximab, may also be used during treatment.

It takes several weeks for the medication to work, with most patients seeing improvement after 8 to 16 weeks of treatment; dosage may then be reduced somewhat. The condition should continue to improve for at least 6 months, after which time the need for continued treatment should be regularly assessed.

The condition may worsen for the first 8 to 16 weeks of treatment, sometimes considerably. This can be very stressful for patients, physically and mentally. The worsening of the condition means the medication is working, however, and it should start to clear up within 3 months.

Once the patient is free of lesions---usually within 6 months---treatment may end. The medication stays in the system for about three years, during which patients should stay free of lesions. After that time lesions may return; patients can once again buy Soriatane and repeat treatment.

Important Precautions

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not buy Soriatane; the medication is known to cause severe birth defects. Women of childbearing age may need to demonstrate proof they are not pregnant. Women are also advised to use two forms of birth control, and it's worth noting that progesterone will not be as effective while Soriatane is being taken, so one of those methods cannot be progesterone based.

As the medication is present in the body for three years following treatment, these two methods of birth control should be utilized for three years after treatment ends.

The medication is also present in sperm, though it's unclear whether it is in quantities sufficient to cause birth defects. Men who buy Soriatane may want to avoid getting a woman pregnant during treatment and for three years after treatment.

Both genders should avoid giving blood during treatment and for three years after.
